Two student leaders of The Pendulum, Elon University’s daily newsgathering organization, will attend the College Media Association conference March 12-15, 2016, in New York, where they will attend educational workshops and network with media professionals.
Students in attendance will be:
- Hannah Silvers, managing editor
- Courtney Campbell, style editor
Pendulum adviser Colin Donohue will also be in attendance.
In addition to attending workshops and sessions led by professionals from the media world and faculty members from communications schools nationwide, students will also network, take tours of media organizations around the city and have The Pendulum and its website professionally critiqued.
Students will submit entries to the Apple Awards competition, which recognizes the best newspapers, yearbooks and literary magazines from schools in attendance at the CMA convention.
Check this blog regularly from March 12-15 for updates from the students on the trip. They will be posting quick summaries/reflections after the sessions they attend. The Pendulum is returning to the CMA conference in New York for the first time since 2013.
