It’s a common sight on police reports from Elon University Campus Police: large blocks of blacked out text.
There’s so much redacted that, at times, it’s difficult to really figure out what allegedly happened with the incident. It’s what Frank LoMonte of the Student Press Law Center called “The Rectangle Box Problem” in his Saturday session called “Cracking Campus Crime.”
Of all the presenters I heard from this weekend, LoMonte was the best. He’s relatable, was clearly prepared for the session and spend ample time answering questions and addressing students’ specific issues. Honestly, it was perhaps the best session I went to in Austin.
