Spotify. SoundCloud. Whims. CinemaGram. Tout.
These are just a few of the social media tools explained during my second session of the day, which was led by three staff members from Lewis University’s “The Lewis Flyer.”
Because The Pendulum is putting a stronger emphasis on online content now, social media inherently becomes a bigger focus as well. Although we are very Facebook and Twitter-savvy, there are so many more tools that we could be using to interact with our audience and engage readers.
A great part of this session — which I thoroughly enjoyed overall — was that after the session leaders presented their favorite social media tools, audience members shared which social media tools have been the most beneficial to their news organizations, especially where audience interaction is concerned. I picked up so many great ideas to bring back to Elon, and I can’t wait to pitch some of them.
